Dynamic Thumbnails
As long as your server supports GD version 2 then PHPPI will create all the thumbnails on the fly, no need to create thumbnails yourself.
Themes
With some PHP, HTML and CSS knowledge you can create your own themes for PHPPI, you can also incorporate PHPPI into your existing website. Next release will include support for Smarty templates making theming even easier.
Fancybox
Support for Fancybox is included. Fancybox is a lightbox alternative image viewer that allows for quick browsing through your gallery.
No Databases
PHPPI was originally designed to not use databases, this allows you to run PHPPI on pretty much any PHP enabled server, all information is retrieved from file based caching and the images themselves.
Browser Support
Care has been taken to make sure that there are no major differences in running your PHPPI gallery in any web browser. Only older web browsers such as Internet Explorer 6 are unsupported. PHPPI also resizes correctly for smaller screens such as mobile devices.
Customisation
If there's a feature there's a setting for it. PHPPI includes many settings allowing you to customise or turn off/on any feature that you require.
